Mt. Ascutney State Park was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and the wooded campground has 39 campsites, 10 lean-tos, restrooms, showers ($), a 3.7 mile toll road to enjoy scenic vistas, and stone shelter. Hike to the summit and observation tower from the top parking area or from one of four trails starting at the base. Mt. Ascutney is a granite monadnock sweeping dramatically 3144’ from the Connecticut River at its base. This park is popular with hang gliders too! Trailer sanitary station available.
