The Old Newfane Inn on the Common was constructed in 1787, when Vermont was still an independent republic. Virtually unchanged for nearly 200 years, this classic and gracious country inn has welcomed the traveler. When lodging or dining with us, you are genuinely returned to that distant era of "The Grants".
For your memorable dining pleasure, special occasions or just treat your taste buds...
For the past decades, The Old Newfane Inn has been published and recommended for its high standards in classic French-Swiss Cuisine by Gourmet Magazine, Travel and Leisure, Chaine de Rotisseurs, Bon Appetit, The New York Times and Yankee Magazine Editors' Pick Of The Year.
We use only the freshest in meats, seafood and vegetables, cooked "par excellence" by chef-owner Eric Weindl. You will find our well known specialities on our regular dinner menu. We have a very large selection of imported and domestic wines, very carefully selected by the owners.
