The Mecklenburgh, a charming historic inn located in the heart of the village of Chester. Located on a knoll, two blocks from the ocean. The covered balconies sport Adirondack chairs, a hammock, and colourful hanging flower pots. A quiet spot to relax and watch the ebb and flow of village life.
Suzi, your hostess and Cordon Bleu chef, will prepare a gourmet breakfast for you each morning featuring fresh local ingredients. It coud be french toast topped with bananas soused with Mount Gay rum finished with whipped cream, or spicy corn fritters topped with homemade tomato salsa and sour cream or poached salmon benedict with fresh herbs. Breakfast is served at the harvest table in front of the fireplace. It's an opportunity to enjoy lively conversation and pick up travel information.
Chester boasts a scenic waterfront with boats bobbing at anchor, surrounded by stately homes. The village shops and studios are repositories for local treasures and cosmopolitan gifts. An 18 hole golf course borders the ocean and shares its woodlands with fox and pheasant... and a Siamese cat named "Angus".
If you prefer sailing, tennis, kayaking or fishing charters, Suzi can arrange them for you.
The atmosphere at the Inn is very casual. Kick off your shoes, unpack your bags, make yourself a cocktail and relax.
