Enjoy a welcoming bit of British hospitality along fabled frontier trails in western Nebraska. Your hosts hail from England and stock the campground store with tea, biscuits, sweets and other goodies from the home country. Camp among towering cottonwoods by braids of the South Platte River, which pioneers followed along the Oregon and Mormon trails. (Visit the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument straddling I-80 near Kearney.) Enjoy the pool, game room and playground and play tetherball, sand volleyball and horseshoes. You’re liable to see deer, rabbits and beaver dams along the nature trail.
