Custer made his last stand near the mountains on the horizon 16 miles south of this campground. Most guests visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and museum situated on grassy bluffs above a winding stream. If you're here in late June, be sure to watch the annual battle reenactment at Hardin's Little Bighorn Days. On star-filled nights camping or stepping out from your air-conditioned Kamping Kabin in this beautiful broad meadow, you'll understand why Montana is called Big Sky Country. Even the pet walk is Montana-sized, covering a full acre. Grab a treat at the ice cream social. Your kids will keep happy swimming in the pool, shooting hoops or on the playground for little campers. Or cast for trout on the Bighorn River just a mile away.
