Inn at Crotched Mountain B&B, Francestown, New Hampshire, USA
Inn at Crotched Mountain B&B A comfortable Country Inn located on the side of Crotched Mountain with breathtaking views of New Hampshires the Piscataqoug Valley. 'Located in the Monadnock Tourist Region. Built in 1822 as a farmhouse, the historic Inn at Crotched Mountain once served as a stop on the Underground Railroad, helping slaves escape to Canada. A secret tunnel led from the cellar to the road. During the late 1920's, the homestead became a renowned farm, with prize-winning livestock such as sheep, cattle, horses, and Angora goats. Part of the house was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt in 1935, but much of the original brick building still remains. John and Rose Perry purchased the home in 1976. They have been working ever since to preserve and respect its rich, historical past.
